A week at a two venue cafe

An illustrative example rather than a customer: eleven staff across two sites, mostly casual.

ThursdayCopy last week, cover the Saturday function, check the estimate, publish.
FridaySomebody calls in sick. Cover is found, the shift is republished, and they clock in unrostered.
MondayThree hours need a look. Approve the rest together and send the week to Xero.

Make it. Share it. Check the hours.

The same three steps every week. Pick one to see the screen it happens on.

Copy last week and change what moved

Clashes are flagged as you go, and the estimated cost adds up while you decide. Weekend and public holiday rates are worked in for the people you have said they apply to.

  • Copy last week in one action
  • Clashes and unavailability flagged as you go
  • Estimated cost per shift, day and week

See what the week costs before you publish it

Every shift carries an estimated cost as you place it, and the day and the week add themselves up. A busy Saturday is a decision rather than a surprise on the invoice.

  • Estimated cost per shift, per day and per week
  • Your own rates and loadings, applied to the people you choose
  • Public holidays for your state already in the calendar

One price for your whole team

Every venue on every plan, and every feature but one: connecting your payroll system is on the paid plans, and the free plan exports the same hours as a CSV. Prices are in AUD and include GST, so the figure here is the figure on your statement.

A focused rostering tool for teams that do not need an enterprise HR suite

Roster Flow does the week between the roster and the pay run, and stops there. If you need recruitment, performance reviews or payroll itself in the same product, a larger platform will suit you better, and that is worth knowing before you start.

Questions people ask before they start

Is the free plan permanent?

Yes. Up to five people, for as long as you use it. It is not a trial and it does not ask for a card. Connecting payroll is on the paid plans; the free plan exports approved hours as a CSV. Paid plans start with 28 days free.

Who counts towards the staff allowance?

Everybody on your team list who is active, which includes you and any managers, because they hold accounts and use the software. Deactivate somebody who has left and they stop counting from that day.

What happens if I go over the staff limit?

On the free plan we ask you to choose a paid plan before the sixth invitation goes out, so nothing is charged for a decision you were not shown. On a paid plan you move up a band and we charge the difference then rather than surprising you next month.

Can I use it without connecting payroll?

Yes. The Xero connection is there on a paid plan if you want it, and MYOB is coming soon. Without either, the hours by employee report exports to CSV for whoever runs your payroll.

Does it calculate pay or interpret awards?

No, and that is deliberate. You set your own rates and your own weekend and holiday loadings, and the costs shown on the roster are estimates based on exactly what you set. Pay rules, including any award interpretation, are set up in your payroll system.
